About
Handling time pressure at work is hard enough. What makes it harder is that even when things are moving fast, you still have to explain the problem clearly and give direct instructions without sounding rude. In this Pro Vocabulary Lab, you’ll practice natural workplace phrases for urgent tasks, tight timelines, delays, and busy workdays. You’ll practice how to: * explain that something is urgent without sounding rude * ask a coworker to take care of something today * respond when there is too much work and not enough time * use clear, professional language in realistic workplace situations You’ll hear short workplace dialogues, practice saying the phrases out loud, and work through realistic situations based on problems people actually deal with at work: customer complaints, missing payments, password problems, delayed materials, safety issues, and more. Phrases you’ll practice include: * This is time-sensitive. * This needs to be done today. * We need to act on this today. * I’m swamped right now. * I’m tied up most of the day. * The team is already stretched thin. Grammar practice You’ll also practice using the Second Conditional and "I’d rather" to talk about possible workplace decisions. You’ll learn how to say things like: * If I worked in client support, I would be worried about Friday coverage. * I’d rather test it for three months than reject it immediately. * I’d rather keep the normal schedule By the end of the lab, you’ll be able to respond more clearly when work is moving fast, something needs attention today, or you need to explain why waiting is not a good idea.
