About REAL Business English

Hi, I’m Erin.

I created Real Business English because I know how much the right words matter. You know what you want to say, but sometimes the words just aren’t there. That’s what I focus on here.

My background is in linguistics. At university, I studied how international news is translated across languages and how even small differences in word choice can change the way the same story is perceived. I found that fascinating. It showed me just how much language can affect the way we understand people, situations, and even the mood of a conversation.

I speak several languages and have been teaching English and other foreign languages for 20 years. And now I’m teaching my daughter to speak several languages too.

My husband and I also run a business here in the U.S., so I know Business English from outside the classroom as well.

Real Business English brings those parts of my life together: languages, teaching, and business.

The lessons are built around situations that can actually happen at work and the language people need to handle them. The goal is simple: to help you find the words when you need them.
